515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
February 22, 1996
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Administrative Assistant
RE: Parking Along Keller Parkway
MAYOR
Michael L Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morel=
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
As directed by the Council, residents along Keller Parkway were
surveyed to determine whether or not there was support for
posting both sides of Keller Parkway lying between Little Canada
Road and Arcade Street as no parking. Currently the lake side of
Keller Parkway is posted no parking, while the house side is not.
(Attached is a copy of the survey which was sent to residents.)
33 surveys were mailed, and 25 were returned. The following are
the results of the survey:
16 Support No Parking On Both Sides of the Street
8 Did Not Support
1 Did Not Check Either Box
The following are the comments which were noted on the survey
forms:
The hazard of cars parked on either side for us is mostly
small children trying to cross when they have to look around
a parked car and do not have a clear view of traffic on-
coming.
The Council CRAMS a wider street down our throats. The
Council CRAMS water down my throat. Now it wishes to know
about an insignificant issue!! Too little, too late. Slow
down the traffic and put the trees back. (This is the
resident who did not check either box.)
Enforce the speed limit and the no- parking.
My kid rides his bike on Keller all the time. I would like
him to have as much room as possible.
A good idea. Please implement as soon as possible.
Thanks for the opportunity to voice our opinion. Presently
Page 39
