MINUTES <br />TEXT <br />AMENDMENT <br />& CUP FOR <br />ADDITIONAL <br />RECREATIONAL <br />USES - <br />GRAND SLAM <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 10, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular <br />meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of <br />October, 1996 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at <br />7:30 P.M. and the following members of the Commission <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Fred Schletty <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Asst. <br />There being no corrections to the minutes of the <br />September 12, 1996 Regular Planning Commission meeting, <br />the minutes stood approved as submitted. <br />The City Planner reported that Di -Med Corporation has <br />requested approval of a text amendment and a <br />conditional use permit adding recreational uses <br />allowed in the Business Warehouse (BW) and Industrial - <br />Park (I -P) Zoning Districts. This request was <br />discussed at the last Planning Commission meeting, and <br />the Commission requested staff survey surrounding <br />cities to determine the type of recreational uses <br />allowed in their industrial zoning districts. The <br />Planner reviewed the results of that survey. The <br />Planner pointed out that Little Canada's Industrial <br />Zoning District currently allows bowling alleys, dance <br />halls, and sports and health clubs as permitted uses in <br />the Industrial District. <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />The City Planner presented the Commission with a text <br />amendment which would better define sports and health <br />clubs and include in that definition batting cages, <br />gymnasiums, or other similar facilities.
