January 8, 1996 <br />Zaire Canada CL it CPLLs, Inc. <br />2900 North Rice Street, #380 <br />Little Canada, Mn 55113 <br />(612) 486 -0528 <br />Members of the City Council <br />City of Little Canada <br />Little Canada, MN 55117 <br />Dear Council Members. <br />Our organization, Little Canada Charity Plus, Inc., is a Minnesota non - profit corporation and has <br />been a residence Charity in the City of Little Canada from its inception in 1979. <br />Primary functions of our organization are: <br />1) Acquisition, development and maintenance of community parks and recreational <br />facilities in the Little Canada area for community welfare and wellbeing. <br />2) Implementing and /or supporting sports and educational activities or medical care <br />programs for the youth in the Little Canada area. <br />3) Providing financial assistance to the elderly, needy, or handicapped in our community. <br />We were the primary donor (in excess of $500,000.00 over the years) in the acquisition and <br />development of Pioneer Park. Our members participate each year in planting flowers and trees at <br />the Park and most recently, our organization fimded $20,820.00 for furnishing and installing an 8 <br />foot high outfield fencing in 1994 and contributed $40,000.00 last month to cover the cost of <br />constructing lighting facilities for youth sports activities at Pioneer Park. We also contributed a <br />complete Playground facility at Nadeau Park. In 1992 when our city was devastated by the <br />straight lined wind storm, our organization funded to clean -up the city streets. <br />In addition to our direct approaches to the youth and needy in the community, we also are <br />working very closely with a number of community organizations to implement broader and more <br />effective charitable programs in our community. Over the years, we have been working very <br />closely with Little Canada Recreation Association and contributed over $50,000.00 for youth <br />activities and subsidized youth activity registration fees for many years. <br />In partnership with Little Canada Volunteer Fire Dept. we provided smoke detectors to the <br />seniors in the community and contributed substantial sums of money (in excess of $100,000.00) <br />to the Fire Dept.in its aquisition of state of art Fire trucks for the safety of our community as well <br />as volunteer firefighters. <br />Our organization as a Charitable organization under WC Section 501(c)(3) also has <br />contributed substantial sums of money for the area seniors in general and Mayfair Residences <br />age 1 <br />
