Canada, including additional native wildflowers and grasses, trees, <br />and shrubs. <br />Complete construction of the first phase of the Phalen <br />Wetland Park Project in St. Paul, and continue to work with <br />the City on the larger wetland restoration project. <br />Continue to work with Little Canada and the Round Lake <br />Association on the City Center and Little Canada Road <br />projects, to implement improvements that will benefit lake water <br />quality and increase the value of the area. <br />Add signs for lake users and continue monitoring Eurasian <br />water milfoil with Gervais Lake Association members. <br />Continue water quality monitoring using invertebrates <br />and fish to identify areas of high biological quality or <br />problems in the Watershed. <br />Work with the City of Maplewood and Ramsey County <br />Parks and Recreation Department to implement the <br />Maplewood Open Space plans and Battle Creek Park <br />plans completed in 1996. <br />Begin a project to identify and map important habitat areas <br />and natural areas remaining in the watershed, and <br />connecting corridors among them, so that these can be <br />enhanced as the Watershed District and other local <br />governments work in these areas. <br />Identify 2 -3 new demonstration projects with local <br />governments (like the Maplewood Stormwater Project <br />or Parkview School Prairie Planting), that implement <br />creative solutions to enhance natural resources and meet <br />community needs. <br />Provide educational programs and work with local <br />governments, businesses and citizens on natural resources <br />issues as requested. <br />Page 19 <br />
