AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 212 AND AMENDING CHAPTER 601 AUTHORIZING THE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER TO ENFORCE THE CITY'S CODE AND ISSUE TAGS THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: section 1. Chapter 212 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada is hereby added to read as follows: 212. CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. 212.010. ESTABLISHMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. The City Council.may by resolution appoint one or more individuals as Code Enforcement Officers. A Code Enforcement Officer shall be authorized to enforce all provisions of the Municipal Code of Little Canada and the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance. 212.020. authorizes the City Administrator, an and CityCemployeesrand individuals employed by departments contracting with the City to provide necessary services, designated by the City Administrator, to issue and serve written or printed notice, hereinafter referred to as a "tag," upon persons charged with any violation of the Municipal Code of Little Canada and the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance. The following individuals shall have the authority to issue tags for violations of City Ordinances: (a) peace officers and part-time peace officers; (b) reserve Officers; (c) community service officers; (d) code enforcement officers; (e) building officials; and (f) fire inspection officers. Section 2. • Section 601.060 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: ENFORCEMENT. It shall be the duty of the Council to enforce the provisions of this Chapter. The council hereby authorizes the code enforcement officer to enforce this Chapter, including the power to inspect private premises and to issue tags for violations of this Chapter. 1 Page 71 P. 3
