MINUTES <br />CUP — <br />401 -407 SOUTH <br />OWASSO <br />BLVD. — <br />YOUNG <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 14, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 14th day of <br />March, 2013 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Vice Chair Tom Duray called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Ms. Jennifer Maleitzke <br />Ms. Heidi Murphy <br />Mr. Nick Schwalbach <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Ms. Vanessa VanAlstine, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />The February 14, 2013 Planning Commission meeting minutes were <br />approved as submitted. <br />The City Planner reported that Jeff Young has applied for a Conditional <br />Use Permit for a Comprehensive Sign Plan for the property located at <br />401 -407 South Owasso Blvd. The Planner noted that a Comprehensive <br />Sign Plan is required for multi- tenant commercial buildings, and gives <br />the City the opportunity to review signage on these buildings to ensure <br />that the meet the intent of the zoning district and ordinance standards. <br />The Planner noted that the diagram submitted shows eight signs around <br />the building. The total signage is 270 square feet, or about 6% of the <br />building facade area. This is well within the allowable signage standard of <br />15 %. <br />The Planner noted that the drawing submitted does not show all the <br />proposed signs as listed on the application form. He recommended that <br />the applicant provide an updated drawing that matches the proposed list of <br />signs. The Planner stated that he is recommending approval of the CUP <br />subject to compliance with ordinance standards and an updated drawing. <br />
