Mr. Steve Grittman 2 8/26/96
Again, the first option is the most preferred in order to achieve the space
required for the two (2) proposed new service bays.
The new building expansion consists of erecting a structure to match the
existing building. Construction of wood posts set in concrete post footings to
below frost depth, wood cross purlins, pre- engineered wood roof trusses, with
prefinished metal siding and roofing for exterior finishes. Roof and wall
insulation would meet all code requirements. The front of existing building
would also receive new metal wall panels and trim in order to maintain a
consistent color and appearance. In addition, the existing facility would
undergo minor interior renovations including office area expansion and toilet
room alterations. (See attached copy of preliminary floor plan.)
All mechanical and electrical construction work would be contracted as a
"design build" service and work completed by a Certified Master Electricians
and Plumbers as required and the building structure addition will be certified
by a Structural Engineer registered in the State of Minnesota and plans
submitted accordingly.
In order to proceed with further building plans and construction contracts,
Selland Auto respectfully asks for a "variance" to encroach upon property line
setbacks, and would like to have this matter formally presented to City Council
for final decisions /approval.
If you have any further technical questions please contact myself at any time.
Sincerely,
Steven A.
