LITTLE CANADA
PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT
515 Little Canada Road / Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
Telephone: (612) 484 -2177 / Fax: 484 -4538
October 4, 1996
JIM MORELAN, Director
JACK FITZGERALD, Asst. Director
MICHELLE DeBACE, Program Coordinator
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director
RE: Twin Lake Park Area
I have been in touch with Marty Walsh at the City of Vadnais
Heights in an attempt to get a memo from him explaining how
Little Canada might fit into the plan for a proposed park on the
north end of Twin Lake. He is attempting to put one together for
your review, but isn't sure if he will get in done in time for
today's agenda deadline. If not, he will get it to us as soon as
possible.
It appears that there may be some differences in their previous
plans for that area which they would like Little Canada to
consider. I will forward the information to you as soon as it is
received.
The other item that Vadnais Heights has requested our
participation in is the trail around the south side of Vadnais
Lake on Vadnais Blvd., where it passes through the N.E. corner of
Little Canada. This trail would be a very welcome addition to
the new Vadnais and Sucker Lake Regional Park area. It will
serve to connect the Twin Lake area to the planned trail that
runs throughout the regional park, as well as a connection to the
Ramsey County bike trail on Edgerton Street. I would encourage
the City's support for the construction of this trail.
cc: City Administrator
Page 33
