Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
CITY OF VADNAIS HEIGHTS
687 East County Road "F"
Vadnais Heights, Minnesota 55127 -7099
Phone (612) 429 -5343 Fax: (6121 429-8282
RE: Regional Trail Around Vadnais Lake and City Park Area at Twin Lake
Dear Mr. Hanson:
Enclosed is an updated map of the development concept plan for the Vadnais and Sucker
Lake Regional Park area. This map shows the planned trail that would be adjacent to
Vadnais Boulevard as well as the other trails proposed for the area.
Also included is a rough concept plan and plat map of the park area that has now been
dedicated to the City of Vadnais Heights from the Mitchell Preserve.
The City of Vadnais Heights is asking if the City of Little Canada would participate in
the construction of the trail along that portion of Canada which Vadnais Boulevard is
located. Vadnais Heights has agreed to construct an eight foot wide trail along Vadnais
Boulevard which is within its City Boundary. Ramsey County Parks and Recreation
Department has agreed to continue the eight foot wide trail that borders the planned park
area along Vadnais Boulevard. If Little Canada would agree to participant similarly along
the approximate 720 foot segment of Vadnais Boulevard located within Little Canada, the
trail would be complete. Enclosed is a copy of the section map that identifies this segment
of Vadnais Boulevard.
The second item which Vadnais Heights would like consideration, is the park area which
connects to Twin Lake and borders the City of Little Canada. The City of Vadnais
Heights is interested in working on an agreement which would allow both Cities to have
input into the development and operation of the planned park. In exchange for the joint
development and operations agreement, Vadnais Heights would like to move a portion of
Printed on recycled paper. Page 34
