515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morel=
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
//q TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
v
/4 FROM: Scott Tangen, Public Works Director
DATE: August 22, 1996
RE: On- Street Parking
The following is a list of streets where Public Works has regularly
encountered vehicles parked on the street following a snowfall event of 2"
or more:
Sylvan Street, north of County Road C
Ruth Street, Demont to Old County Road C
Rose Place East
Lakeshore Avenue, Little Canada Road to Old County Road C
Jessica Court
Maple Lane
Rosewood Drive
Valento Lane
Schletty Drive, south of Little Canada Road
Morrison, north of Demont Avenue
Racine Drive
Demont Avenue, Morrison to Savage Lane
Morrison, south end
Dianna Lane
Viking Drive, east of Edgerton Street
Vanderbie
Costa Lane
I recommend no on- street parking City -wide between the hours of 2:00 a.m.
and 6:00 a.m. year round. Banning on- street parking during these hours
would have the following benefits:
* Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of snow plowing
operations (typically snow plowing operations begin between these
hours).
ST:kv
* Eliminate our citizens having to determine when we have received
2" of snowfall so they can move their vehicles from the street.
* Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sheriff's patrol
ability to spot suspicious activity.
Page 113
