515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
August 28, 1996
TO:
Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
RE:
Open Space Proposal by Maplewood
Attached is a notice
rezoning designation
space. This land is
Parkway on the South,
the West and Kohlman
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scaize
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
regarding Maplewood's evaluation of a
and possible purchase of land for open
contained within the area bordered by Keller
LaBore Road on the North, Arcade Street on
Lane on the East.
The City may wish to comment to the City of Maplewood regarding
this proposal given the fact that we have water main and new
street going by this property on the west edge. These
improvements could affect the development potential of this land.
Furthermore, this proposal could effectively landlock certain
parcels within Little Canada thereby precluding future
development. It would seem reasonable to ask the City of
Maplewood to table this matter until the two cities could jointly
analyze the impact of their proposal.
Your direction is needed prior to this hearing on September 3rd.
Page 8
