Page 6 <br />Planning Commission <br />May 9, 1985 <br />Ballfields Mrs. Timmons stated that if Kellogg closes its doors, it will <br />(Cont.) not sell valuable land. She questioned how we can talk about <br />quality of living when it only relates to taxable land. <br />Mr. Herkenhoff stated that land is 'getting very scarce and we <br />are groping for places to play. <br />Mr. Morelan has sent a letter to the Planning Commission explaining <br />the need for ballfields in Little Canada. The ballfields in use <br />belong to the Roseville School District. He stated that we are <br />using the Kellogg fields at the present time and they are not <br />solving our needs. <br />Mr. Costa is against the concept of this proposal. <br />Mr. Morelan discussed with Mrs. Kingsbury the uses of the ballfields <br />in regard to policies and non - residents. <br />Mrs. Scalze discussed with the Commission plans for other parks <br />in the area. They also discussed the recreational activity fees. <br />Mr. Herkenhoff made the following motion: <br />Favoring the concept as proposed of acquiring some <br />ballfields with a financial feasibility. <br />The motion was seconded by Mrs,. Timmons. <br />Motion carried 6 -2. <br />Mr. Costa made the following motion: <br />Requesting a complete study of any properties bought <br />for ballfields with regard to cost of land, cost of <br />loss of revenue, cost of maintenance and any other cost. <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. DeLonais. <br />Motion carried 8 -0. <br />Sigstad Mr. Sigstad appeared before the Commission requesting a permit <br />Car Wash to put four stalls on his car wash on Rice St. The Planning <br />Commission did not have any information on this proposal. <br />
