i INlrf':S <br />Planning Commission <br />Jan. 10, 1935 <br />Budget Auto <br />(Cont.) <br />Election <br />Of <br />Officers <br />Mr. DeLonais stated that he would like to see the conditions apply to <br />Budget Auto as did in 1976 unless the City feels that some concessions <br />can he made. <br />Mrs. Timmons recommended that the Budget Auto matter be tabled until <br />the Commission has received a Planner's Report. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Davison. <br />Motion carried 8 — 0. <br />Mrs. Timmons recommended t hat Mr. Peter Costa be elected as Chairman <br />of the Planning Commission and Mr. Gene DeLonais he elected as Vice <br />Chairman. <br />Motion seconded by Mrs. Kingsbury. <br />Motion carried 8 — 0. <br />Ryan Mrs. Timmons stated that the idea of a PUD for Ryan Industrial was <br />Industrial a good one. The PUD would apply to development that was in place <br />Park PUD before January 1, 1985. Also, the PUD will allow the city flexibility <br />in the park. <br />Mr. Grittman stated that the PUD will allow the City and property <br />owners in the park to negotiate. Also, the City will not have to <br />go through the variance process to handle all the non — conformities <br />in the park. The Planner reported that Art Ryan also thinks this <br />is an excellent way to handle the situation. <br />Mrs. Timmons asked how this will effect the outdoor storage issue. <br />Grittman replied that with a PUD everything in the park comes under <br />scrutiny. <br />Mr. Davison commented that this is a way of granting variances in the <br />park without setting precedents. <br />Mr. Aerkenhoff asked if the businesses in the park are in favor of <br />this proposal. Mr. Grittman replied that everyone seems to think <br />that it is a workable idea. <br />Mrs. Timmons asked how the City can rezone all this property. The <br />Planner replied that the City would hold a public hearing on the <br />proposal and the property owners would be notified. <br />Grittman stated that the proposal is a way to gain more control for <br />the City and flexibility in return for allowing variances. <br />Page —3— <br />
