i INlrf':S Planning Commission Jan. 10, 1935 Budget Auto (Cont.) Election Of Officers Mr. DeLonais stated that he would like to see the conditions apply to Budget Auto as did in 1976 unless the City feels that some concessions can he made. Mrs. Timmons recommended that the Budget Auto matter be tabled until the Commission has received a Planner's Report. Motion seconded by Mr. Davison. Motion carried 8 — 0. Mrs. Timmons recommended t hat Mr. Peter Costa be elected as Chairman of the Planning Commission and Mr. Gene DeLonais he elected as Vice Chairman. Motion seconded by Mrs. Kingsbury. Motion carried 8 — 0. Ryan Mrs. Timmons stated that the idea of a PUD for Ryan Industrial was Industrial a good one. The PUD would apply to development that was in place Park PUD before January 1, 1985. Also, the PUD will allow the city flexibility in the park. Mr. Grittman stated that the PUD will allow the City and property owners in the park to negotiate. Also, the City will not have to go through the variance process to handle all the non — conformities in the park. The Planner reported that Art Ryan also thinks this is an excellent way to handle the situation. Mrs. Timmons asked how this will effect the outdoor storage issue. Grittman replied that with a PUD everything in the park comes under scrutiny. Mr. Davison commented that this is a way of granting variances in the park without setting precedents. Mr. Aerkenhoff asked if the businesses in the park are in favor of this proposal. Mr. Grittman replied that everyone seems to think that it is a workable idea. Mrs. Timmons asked how the City can rezone all this property. The Planner replied that the City would hold a public hearing on the proposal and the property owners would be notified. Grittman stated that the proposal is a way to gain more control for the City and flexibility in return for allowing variances. Page —3—
