Little Canada Mayor and City Council
Little Canada Planning Commission
7 March 1985
Page Two
COMMUNITY CENTER - A building or group of buildings owned and operated
by is governmental agency or semi- public /non- profit organization for
educational or recreational uses intended for the entire City or abutting
cities.
NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER - A building or group of buildings owned and operated
by a governmental agency or semi- public /non - profit organization for
educational or recreational uses intended for a limited geographic portion
of the City.
A public hearing to consider these additions has been scheduled for 27 March
1985.
As part of our review of the public district provisions, it should be pointed
out that the City Hall and Fire Station on Little Canada Road would be viewed
as non- conoforming activities, as the public district does not specify government
offices or public safety buildings as an allowable use. While the non- conform-
ing classification at present appears to raise no special concern, the City may
wish to consider a rezoning of the property at some future date to a district
classification which recognizes the activities which are in fact taking place.
Prior to your respective meetings, please contact our office should you wish
to discuss any of the above issues.
cc: Joseph Chlebeck
Tom Sweeney
Lowell Nagovsky
31
