NORTHWEST SUBURBAN YOUTH SERVICES
PROGRAM EXPANSION PROPOSAL
May 28, 1985
(Revised June 6, 1985)
Currently the Northwest Suburban Youth Service Bureau offers a full range of community
based programs for adolescents and their families from 10 north suburban communities.
These communities contain over 120,000 residents and encompass 3 school districts.
The programs offered are divided into the categories of Community Counseling Services
and Special Community Services.
The Community Counseling Services include:
- Community Corrections Diversion Counseling
- Individual Counseling
- Family Counseling
- Group Counseling
- Family Education Series
- Project Intercept Chemical Dependency Evaluations
- Youth Support Network
The Special Community Services include:
- Youth Employment Program
- Senior Home Chore Project
- Shoplifter Diversion Program
- Employment Training Seminars
- Community Restitution Placement /Supervision
The counseling services have generally developed in such a way as to take advantage
of the fact that counseling services can be offered from as many locations as counselors
can be moved to. Counseling services in general lend themselves to mobility because of
the nature of the service. Currently counseling services are accessible to residents
in our service area from three locations: Fairview Community Center, Edgewood Community
Center, and St. Anthony High School. This accessibility is maintained by virtue of
counseling staff scheduling themselves into counseling space made available at Edgewood
Community Center and St. Anthony High School (counselors maintain office space at
Fairview Community Center). Currently all receptionist and telephone services are
coordinated through Fairview Community Center.
BrEan0
JUN 17 1985
42
CITY OF
LITT l : CANADA
