-3-
Payment for Street Lights
The City of Little Canada pays for street lighting power cost from
the City's general fund. At this time the City does not assess power
cost.
In private areas, the Association or owners pay for installation and
power cost.
In specific areas where ornamental street lighting is approved, the
residents will be required to pay for the extra cost of placement,
power and maintenance over and above the City standard residential
light (as an assessment).
When the City installs a new light, it will be through NSP. All
lights are NSP owned and maintained (except by special agreement).
On new public streets in development areas, the developer is required
to pay any extra costs, if any, to install NSP owned street lights.
The City pays the monthly power cost.
Coordination of Lighting
Coordination of City street lighting shall be done by the Public
Works Department. Coordination is to include, but not limited to,
lights requested by petition, placement by Developers, those
recommended by Staff and those installed NSP. All lighting shall be
installed to the City's standards.
2
