MINUTES
City Council
( Jan. 9, 1986
Goff
Construction
(Cont.)
Election
Of
Officers
Mrs. Timmons informed Mr. Goff that Little Canada has the highest
percentage of non -owner occupied multiple dwellings in the area.
The City is concerned about multiple dwellings and the Commission
is looking for a development that will create a neighborhood.
Mr. Goff reported that he builds a quality productthat does not
cost a lot of money. Timmons was not concerned about the quality
and felt that the concept was good, but the density was too great.
Mr. Peter Fooshe, owner of the property, appeared before the Commission
and reported that he felt Mr. Goff's proposal was a sound one and that
Goff would address the Commission's concerns. Fooshe did not feel
that the development would impact the neighbors on the south as there
is 165 feet of NSP easement that would act as a buffer.
Fooshe also pointed out that the proposal would only effect about
3 or 4 residences on the west.
Mr. DeLonais informed Mr. Fooshe that the Commission needs to see
some landscaping plans.
Timmons outlined the problems with the proposal as the density, lack
of landscaping and felt that Mr. Goff should try to create a neighborhood.
Costa indicated that a passive area should be set aside.
Mr. DeLonais stated that as only 1 property owner came to the meeting,
the residents in the area must not care. Timmons disagreed and pointed
out that there are a lot of undeveloped lots on Windrow Drive that
the future owners or people purchasing on a contract - for -deed would
not get notice of the hearing.
Mr. DeLonais nominated Peter Costa as chairman of the Planning Commission
for 1986. Nomination was seconded by Mr. Her:kenhoff. Nominations were
closed.
Therefore, Mr. Costa was elected chairman by a 7 - 0 vote.
Mrs. Timmons nominated Gene DeLonais as vice - chairman of the Planning
Commission for 1986. Nomination was seconded by Mr. Costa. Nominations
were closed.
Therefore, Mr. DeLonais was elected vice - chairman by a 7 - 0 vote.
Page -5-
