Chlebeck
City Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minnesota 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
CITY OF SAINT PAUL
OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY
EDWARD P. STARR, CITY ATTORNEY
647 City Hall, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55102
612- 298 -5121
I am writing this letter on behalf of the City of Saint Paul
and its Board of Water Commissioners. The City of Saint Paul
has received notice that the City of Little Canada will be
enacting a special tax levy to raise funds for the purpose
of paying for a storm sewer improvement project. The notice
which Saint Paul received states that this is not proposed
as a special assessment, but will be enacted as a tax levy
on every lot or parcel of land in the city of Little Canada.
I have called you on Thursday, May 15th, to verify that the
City of Saint Paul property located in Little Canada would
not be subject to the tax levy inasmuch as this property is
owned and is being used for a public purpose that is the Saint
Paul water supply system.
You had indicated that you would check with your city attorney
and advise me of this. If there should be any question regarding
the public use of the Saint Paul Water property for its water
supply system, please notify me.
Your r. very truly,
JER
A
J.
i tant
9
L
ty Attorney
WEE717:
MAY 19 193'3
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
Thomas Mogren, Water Utility
Chris Nicosia, President, Board of Water Commissioners
46
