Yesterday I had called the State Board on
Aging, attempting to gather the information you requested. Ted
Gredvig of that office just returned my call, and indeed he had
more recent information from the Census Department than did the
State Demographer or the Office of Jobs and Training.
Figures released by the Census Bureau in February of 1986 are
these: For a family of one the cutoff is now $5,360. For a family
of two, $7,240. For each additional family member, you apparently
add $1,880.
Since Mr. Gredvig is one up on my other contacts, he might be the
best one to call for up to date information. His number is
296 -2137.
Sincerely,
LtJit
William Makela
Research Analyst
2e
1 83 university avenue east, st. paul, minnesota 55101 (61 2) 227 -5800
