MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 23, 2006 <br />The Council was not agreeable to waiving permit fees for a business, <br />noting its responsibility to provide consistent enforcement of the City's <br />ordinances. <br />Farzan asked if the City would retract the citation that he was issued for <br />violating the sign ordinance. Blesener pointed out that Mr. Farzan was <br />given a copy of the City's ordinance and time to either obtain a permit or <br />remove his temporary sign. He did not and a citation was issued. <br />Farzan stated that he will not be able to pay his rent at his business <br />location. Blesener noted that that was an issue between Mr. Farzan and <br />his landlord. <br />CONSENT Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />AGENDA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-8-194 -APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; <br />*APPROVAL OF FINAL PAY REQUEST FOR 2006 SIDEWAI K <br />IMPROVEMENTS FOR O'MALLEY CONSTRUCTION; <br />*CALL FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE VACATION <br />OF CERTAIN DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENTS ON LOT I, <br />BLOCK I, LITTLE CANADA MID OAKS (THE PRESERVE) FOR <br />WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER I3, 2006 AT 7:30 RM. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />BUILDING The City Planner indicated that the Planning Commission discussed <br />MATERIALS building materials allowed in the Light Industrial Zoning District and <br />IN THE I-1 concluded thaC there should be an upgrade to the types of materials <br />ZONING allowed. The Planner indicated that he will be putting a draft ordinance <br />DISTRICT together for the Commission's review in September. <br />Blesener suggested that information be obtained relative to the types of <br />materials that are feasibly used in poor soil conditions. The City <br />Administrator stated that he would gather information that would show the <br />square footage cost of metal versus concrete versus concrete with soil <br />corrections, etc. for consideration as part of this review. <br />10 <br />
