MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 23, 2006 The Council was not agreeable to waiving permit fees for a business, noting its responsibility to provide consistent enforcement of the City's ordinances. Farzan asked if the City would retract the citation that he was issued for violating the sign ordinance. Blesener pointed out that Mr. Farzan was given a copy of the City's ordinance and time to either obtain a permit or remove his temporary sign. He did not and a citation was issued. Farzan stated that he will not be able to pay his rent at his business location. Blesener noted that that was an issue between Mr. Farzan and his landlord. CONSENT Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: AGENDA RESOLUTION NO. 2006-8-194 -APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: *APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; *APPROVAL OF FINAL PAY REQUEST FOR 2006 SIDEWAI K IMPROVEMENTS FOR O'MALLEY CONSTRUCTION; *CALL FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE VACATION OF CERTAIN DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENTS ON LOT I, BLOCK I, LITTLE CANADA MID OAKS (THE PRESERVE) FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER I3, 2006 AT 7:30 RM. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. BUILDING The City Planner indicated that the Planning Commission discussed MATERIALS building materials allowed in the Light Industrial Zoning District and IN THE I-1 concluded thaC there should be an upgrade to the types of materials ZONING allowed. The Planner indicated that he will be putting a draft ordinance DISTRICT together for the Commission's review in September. Blesener suggested that information be obtained relative to the types of materials that are feasibly used in poor soil conditions. The City Administrator stated that he would gather information that would show the square footage cost of metal versus concrete versus concrete with soil corrections, etc. for consideration as part of this review. 10
