MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 23, 2006 <br />RESOLUTION NO.2006-8-197 -AMENDING CHAPTER 403 OF <br />THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, KNOWN AS THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE, AS RELATES TO PARKING REGULATIONS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PARKS & The City Administrator reported ChaC there are currently two vacancies <br />RECREATION on the Parks & Recreation Commission, and the City has received <br />COMMISSION letters of interest from two individuals interested in being appointed to the <br />VACANCIES Commission. The Commission Chair and the Parks & Recreation Director <br /> have interviewed the two individuals and indicated that both understand <br /> the duties of the position and are qualified to serve. The Administrator <br /> reported that of the two applicants, Ruth Steinwall has expressed interest <br /> in being appointed to the shorter term. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-8-798 -APPOINTING RUTH STEINWALL <br />TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION TO SERVE A <br />TERM THRO UGH DECEMBER, 2007 AND JAMES <br />FLEISCHHACKER TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION TO SERVICE A TERM THRO UGH DECEMBER, <br />2009 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LOCAL ROAD The City Administrator reported that MN DOT has Local Road <br />IMPROVEMENT )inprovement Program Funds available for projects of regional <br />PROGRAM significance, and the realignment of Viking Drive may qualify for <br />GRANT these funds. The Administrator presented a proposed resolution as well <br />APPLICATION as draft grant application form for the Council's review and approval He <br />noted that the City will also solicit support of local legislators and the <br />neighboring business community for this project. Grant applications are <br />due immediately, and MN DOT could be expected Co act on the <br />application as early as September ls`. Contracts would have to be let by <br />April of 2007. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />14 <br />
