Meeting <br />August 4, 1977. <br />Lindquist Property Earl Rossez discussed the Lindquist property, <br />Open Space saying that it would be mice for green acres. <br />The area covers about 28 acres and only about <br />8 acres are buildable. The asking price is about <br />$2,000.00 per acre. There is a question as to <br />whether the city want this land at this cost <br />for open space. <br />The Planning Commission recommends that the City <br />Clerk write a letter to the County inquiring <br />as to whether they have any desire to purchase <br />the Lindquist property for open space. <br />Some of the members of the Planning Commission <br />have checked on the land and would like to purchase <br />it for open space. <br />Dr. Keenen made a motion that the Planning Commission <br />approve the concept that we aquire the Turnquist <br />property as open space pending information from the <br />County that they are interested in procurring <br />this land for open space. <br />Seconded by Ralph Nardini <br />Motion Carried. <br />Following are more interviews of applicants for City Planner.Questions the same <br />as in previous interviews were asked. Please refer to the minutes of <br />the special meeting of July 28, 1977, for the questions and previous <br />interviews. <br />Bill Short and Mr. Ohrn <br />Barton Aschman Associates, Inc. <br />1. Mr. Short is working in White Bear Township presently, and in <br />Lino Lakes. He has experience in suburban planning. He has been a <br />planner for three years. Mr. Ohrn said that the firm would .cover all <br />issues. He is currently making a comprehensive plan of South St. Paul. <br />2. We would be given the benefits of the problems of the City. They <br />would try to help us find a plan for the City. No model community <br />was presented. <br />3. They would help us determine what the ratio would be for gas <br />stations, services, available, tax base, etc. This is what they are <br />working on in Shoreview now. <br />4 & 5. Has the capability in the office to help with a comprehensive <br />plan. Could be on a retainer basis to help when questions come up. <br />6. Bill Short would be liason and would attend the meetings. <br />7.
