Authorization to transmit this statement to you was granted by the Council at its meeting on June 23, 1977, and the statement is dated the same. The procedures to be used for the reconciliation of System Statements are being considered by the Metropolitan Council and the Land Use Advisory Committee and will be available soon. The next steps to be taken in carrying out the coordinated metropolitan -local planning process established by the Metropolitan Land Planning Act are as follows: 1. Local review of the System Statement and, if requested by the local unit within 60 days, a hearing on the System Statement following the reconcili- ation procedures adopted by the Metropolitan Council on April 28, 1977. 2. Preparation of the local comprehensive plan, or amendment of an existing comprehensive plan, in fulfillment of the requirements in Section 9 of the Act. 3. Transmittal of the comprehensive plan to adjacent units of government and affected school districts for review and comment. 4. Transmittal of the comprehensive plan to the Metropolitan Council for review, This System Statement contains three parts as called for in 1976 Session Laws, Chapter 127, Section 5. Part 1 gives the Metropolitan Council's estimates of future population, employment and housing needs for your community. 0037
