Authorization to transmit this statement to you was granted by the <br />Council at its meeting on June 23, 1977, and the statement is dated the same. <br />The procedures to be used for the reconciliation of System Statements are being <br />considered by the Metropolitan Council and the Land Use Advisory Committee and <br />will be available soon. <br />The next steps to be taken in carrying out the coordinated metropolitan -local <br />planning process established by the Metropolitan Land Planning Act are as follows: <br />1. Local review of the System Statement and, if requested by the local unit <br />within 60 days, a hearing on the System Statement following the reconcili- <br />ation procedures adopted by the Metropolitan Council on April 28, 1977. <br />2. Preparation of the local comprehensive plan, or amendment of an existing <br />comprehensive plan, in fulfillment of the requirements in Section 9 <br />of the Act. <br />3. Transmittal of the comprehensive plan to adjacent units of government <br />and affected school districts for review and comment. <br />4. Transmittal of the comprehensive plan to the Metropolitan Council <br />for review, <br />This System Statement contains three parts as called for in 1976 Session Laws, <br />Chapter 127, Section 5. Part 1 gives the Metropolitan Council's estimates of future <br />population, employment and housing needs for your community. <br />0037 <br />
