3
the ground, even though such notification is required by the
regulations of the FCA. Cur attorney notified the PCiL.
2. After the PCA entered. the picture, they told the
•Terrace heights manaement to keep records of the quantities of
oil pumped out of our property. In his deposition, Pir. Veilleux
states "I kept a record for a while, but I d.on't even know if I
have it anymore I don't know if it Lot misplaced. or what. I
don't know :•:here it is."
3. They failed to warn or notify us that those thousands
of gallons of oil were flowing underground, a very short distance
uphill from our house.
4. They told no one at all, anything about the oil. They
searched for the leak, eventually found it, and set about re-
pairing it themselves. It was, as I understand, a defective
fitting. I will avain quote Mr. Veilleux: (In answer to Att6r-
ney Jas. Gowling's question as to how he repaired this defective
article) "I didn't know how to flare it. This is plastic tube
and I never had anything to do with plastic tubing. I tried
heating the tube and sludging it, which didn't work."
I include the above because it demonstrates what both Mr.
Veilleux and Mir. Graczyk state several times in the depositions- -
that neither of them had any formal background, training, or app-
renticeship in the fields of plumbing, fuel line installation or
repair, or any of the utilitarian projects undertaken by them
over the years in the trailer park. At one point, after stating
that he had, indeed, had no training in the fields of sewer
water, electric, or related fields, Mr. Veilleux was asked where
his helper, Frank Graczyk, got his training. Mr. Veilleux's
reply was: "He learned from me."
Page -11-
