Squires, Building Inspector <br />RE: Building permit fees. <br />Recently the Villages of Roseville, Shoreview, New Brighton, <br />and Arden Hills have adopted the fee schedule for Building <br />Permits as listed in talbe 3 -A of the Uniform Building Code. <br />This table is more in accord with the increasing costs of <br />maintaining an inspection department including salaries, <br />cost of office space and administration, State law provides <br />that these costs must come from permit fees and cannot be <br />paid by general funds or taxes which would be unfair to <br />the resident tax payers. <br />For that reason and because uniformity of fees with <br />neighboring communities would be desirable, I ask your <br />consideration in the possibility of adopting table 3-.A <br />as the new permit fee schedule. <br />Respectfull submitted, <br />L.
