SA`_ LE 2 -17 -76 <br />CL_v <br />RESC-LCTTO;; *.'0. <br />• RESOLUTION SUPPORTING IF 2143 (CHANGE IN AZD FORMULA) <br />WHEREAS, one of the factors included in the Minnesota Local Government Aid <br />Formula is population, and - <br />WHEREAS, the population that the current law specifies that must be used is <br />the 1970 Federal Census, and " <br />WHEREAS, a more equitable basis would be to change the existing law so that <br />population determined by a Federal Census subsequent to 1970 would be required to <br />be used by the Minnesota Department of Revenue in determining each local share of <br />Local Government Aid, and <br />WHEREAS, HP 2143, if adopted -as law, would allow the use of the most recent <br />Federal Census in the formula used to calculate Local Government Aid. <br />BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLED by the City Council of the City of <br />that it does hereby urge the _`innesota Legislature to adopt HF 2143. <br />• <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the'.
