MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 27, 2013 <br />The City Planner reviewed his March 8, 2013 report noting that Jeff <br />Young has applied for a master sign plan for 401 -407 South Owasso Blvd. <br />on behalf of the property owner. Young is a prospective tenant in the <br />building and there is one existing tenant, each will occupy about half of <br />the building. The Planner noted that master sign plans are required for <br />multi- tenant buildings. He further indicated that in reviewing the CUP <br />application for the master sign plan, the Planning Commission <br />recommended approval subject to the applicant clarifying that signs that <br />would be considered as part of the plan at this time. The Planner reported <br />that the applicant also indicated the possibility of a freestanding sign on <br />the property, and the Commission indicated that this sign should also be <br />included as part of the master sign plan. <br />The Planner reviewed the updated master sign plan, noting that it includes <br />one sign on the north wall, one on the east wall, two on the south wall, and <br />one freestanding sign. The revised plan has been reviewed by the Code <br />Enforcement Officer and it meets Code. Staff is recommending approval <br />of the revised master sign plan as submitted subject to the appropriate <br />building permits for sign installation. <br />Montour asked Young how much of the building he would occupy. <br />Young replied that he will occupy half of the building, with the NCS <br />business occupying the other half. Young reported that the signage <br />proposed would not be illuminated. Montour asked about the freestanding <br />sign. Young reported that there are no plans to install the pylon sign at <br />this time, but it may be added in the future. Montour asked if an awning <br />was considered a sign. The Planner replied that it was if there is signage <br />on the awning. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Keis, seconded by Boss, the public hearing was closed. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -3 -44 — APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT FOR A MASTER SIGN PLAN FOR 401 -407 SOUTH <br />OWASSO BLVD. AS REQUESTED AND REVISED BY JEFF <br />YOUNG, SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS OUTLINED IN <br />HIS REPORT DATED MARCH 8, 2013, SUBJECT TO <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CODE <br />ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AS OUTLINED IN HER REPORT <br />2 <br />
