Squires, Building Inspector RE: Landscape Bonds and Park Dedication Recent problems have led me to believe the council may want to reconsider procedures in use at this time. LANDSCAPE BONDS At the present time, the Building Inspector is charged with making the determination of the amount of bond required for commercial and industrial projects. In order to do this, I feel at the time of Planning Commission and Council approval, a site plan should be required showing part or all of the following, 1. Description of the land involved showing size and location of the structure with setbacks. 2. Parking and driveway areas with type of surfacing to be used. Curb material (asphalt, concrete, wood, etc.), location and number of handicapped spaces. 3. Green areas. (sod or seed). 4. Size, location, number and species of plantings. (trees and shrubs). 5. Location of signs and light standards if used. A complete site plan would help me greatly in determining-amounts of bonding required. PARK DEDICATION At the present time, I have been arbitrarily setting park dedication amounts for commercial and industrial projects. I do not feel I am qualified to do this and believe somewhere down the line, the city will have problems. People have asked me if I am a qualified land appraiser and I have to truthfully answer "No". In my opinion this responsibility should not be with the Building Inspector.
