The Minnesota Code of Agency Rules for the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) states under Rule 6 S 3.024 B.1.u. - "Construction of a residential development consisting of 50 or more residential units, any part of which is within a shoreland area (as defined by Minn. Stat. § 105.485 (1974)," will require an environmental assessment worksheet (EAW). I have enclosed a few pages taken out of 'The Environmental Review Program A Workbook for Local Government." The pages I've taken out will assist you in filling out the EAWfonn. Copies of "A Workbook for Local Government" were distributed to all local agencies about two years ago and you should have a copy of it in your office. Additional copies may be obtained from Documents Section, Department of Administration, Roan 140, Centennial Building, St. Paul, MN 55155. After you have colleted the form and signed it on page 12, a copy must, be sent to each name on the enclosed distribution List along with an affadavit of mailing to Mary Sullivan of the EQB. The maps and drawings described on page 2 of the EAw must also be sent to each point. There is then a 30-day period for all agencies to review the document to detennine the need for an environmental impact statement (EIS).
