ANIMAL PATROL SFRVICis CONTRACT This agreement mode this , by and between the wn of White 130a,., , hereinafter referred to as the Town, and the City of Vadnais Heigh'.%:, a Municipal corporation located in hamoey County and the State of Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as the City, witnesseth: In consideration of the covenants and agreements hereinafter set forth, the Town hereby agrees to provide animal patrol service to Vadnais Heights, upon conditions mutually agreed by and between the parties hereto as follows: 1. This agreement shall be effective as of the first day of September, 1979 and shall remain in effect until December 31, 1980. 2. The Town egrees to patrol the p,tbl i e and private streets of Vadnais Heights in a vehicle appropriate for the transportation of small animals, in accordance with a schedule agreed upon by both parties. 3. The Town agrees that patrolling shall be done by competent adult personnel trained in the handling of animals, and that such employees shall be approved by the City's Council at the City's request. Such employees shall be deputized by the City with such police powers as are necessary for the apprehension and retention of dogs, cats, and other animals. 4. In addition to the regular hours of patrolling referred to, the Town agrees to maintain standby service to attend cases outside regular patrolling hours at the specific request of the City and the Ramsey County Sheriff Department. The Town agrees to appoint sufficient animal control officers to provide services under the terms of this contract. Animal control officers will _ ssess the same training and requirements as set out in Paragraph 3. 6. The Town represents and agrees that all animals impounded shall be kept at the Town pound at 1281 Hammond Road, White Bear, Minnesota and the Town agrees that all impounded animals shall be kept in a comfortable and humane manner for the period of time required by the City Ordinance. ?e Town agrees that the pound facilities shall be open and available to ■eel animals during reasonable hours, Monday through Friday. At the time that any animal is impounded under this contract, the ?own or its agent shall collect the impounding fee and boarding charges as provided by the City Ordinance.
