November 2, 1979
Page 2
municipalities to consider the CST. Capitol City would then amend its
proposal based upon the expressed desires of the municipalities, giving
notice to all municipalities of amendments to the CST.
3. Capitol City could withdraw the CST proposal and the
fifteen municipalities could proceed to draft and submit CST proposals
to the MCCB. These proposals could be made by individual municipalities
or by groups of municipalities.
Capitol City is eager to learn and follow the desires of your
municipality. We have no intention of forcing any municipality to
proceed in a manner which is unacceptable nor of making any decision for
a municipality. Our desire is to accommodate the suburbs by consideration
of cable. television in the metropolitan area in the manner which best
meets the needs of the communities.
At the November meeting of the MCCB or shortly thereafter, we
would like to give the Board some indication of how we will proceed with
the September 14, 1979 CST proposal. The Board meeting is scheduled for
November 9, 1979. It would assist us if you could contact us and the
MCCB to indicate which of the alternatives outlined above makes the most
sense from your municipality's standpoint. We welcome your suggestions
as to other alternatives which would be more appropriate. We will be
guided by the expressed wishes of the communities. Please feel free to
call Penny Cairns at 291 -9285 or Lee Norman at 298 -0072. The telephone
number of the MCCB is 296 -2545.
Thank you very much for your istance in this matter. )01
Irv.r
Si cere y your
G
. illiam Reilly
PHC:mlc
cc: Mr. W.
