RADAR EQUIPMENT PURCHASE 6 MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT This Agreement made and entered into this day of 19 by and between the County of Ramsey and the Cities of Arden Hills, Little Canada, North Oaks, Shoreview and Vadnais Heights. Whereas, the parties to this Agreement are desirous of purchasing a Kustom H.R. 12 Hand Held Radar to be used to enforce speed laws in their respective cities as set forth in their Law Enforcement Agreement. Whereas, the County of Ramsey is agreeable to render such service through the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department on terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement and the Law Enforcement Service Agreement. Whereas, such contracts are authorized and provided for by the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1957 Sec. 471.59, and Law 1957, Chapter 372. Now Therefore, pursuant to the terms of the aforesaid statutes, it is agreed as follows: The Ramsey County Sheriff shall undertake the purchase of a Kustom H.R. 12 hand held radar speed measuring device for exclusive use of its deputies while carrying out contract law enforcement services with the Cities of Arden Hills, Little Canada, North Oaks, Shoreview and Vadnais Heights. That it is agreed that the use of such radar equipment shall be determined at the discretion of the Ramsey County Sheriff. The ownership and super- vision of the radar equipment shall remain in the Ramsey County Sheriff office as long as the Sheriff Office provides law enforcement service by contract to the aforementioned cities. That the Ramsey County Sheriff shall bill the Cities for the cost of purchase and maintenance on a pro rata share. That share being the same as that pro rata share used during the current year for charges as specified in the Law Enforcement Service Agreement. That the cost of purchase is $2,395 and that cost will be shared as follows. The City of Arden Hills will trade in a VasCar Radar Unit presently in possession of the Sheriff's Office for a discount on sale price of $400 and that the remaining cost will be shared as follows: City of Little Canada - 22.26% of $1995.00 or $444.10 City of North Oaks - 15.48% of $1995.00 or $308.84 City of Shoreview - 43.85% of $1995.00 or $874.77 City of Vadnais Heights 18.41% of $1995.00 or $367.29 That these costs shall be charged to the Cities on the first monthly bill after receipt of the Kustom H.R. 12 Hand Held Radar Unit. That upon termination of any one aforementioned city law enforcement service contract the remaining cities will reimburse those cities at the pro rata value of the Kustom H.R. 12 at the time they terminate the contract. 4 0
