G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
le Canada Road
moda, Minn. 55117
7
MEMORANDUM
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
TO: Little Canada Planning Commission, Mayor and
City Council
FROM: Brod Nielsen /Joe Chlebeck
DATE: 26 March 1980
RE: Request from Larry Dahl to Operate an Auto Alignment and
Frame - Straightening Shop
MAY OR
R•y mond H.nwn
COUNCIL
Robert D.B.c.
Roy P. Nadeau, Jr.
Michael Fahey
Beverly Scalia
Mr. Larry Dahl will appear before the Planning Commission on 1 April 1980 to request
permission to operate an automobile alignment and frame - straightening operation in
Edward McCumbers building located near the intersection of County Road D and Edgerton
Street. The McCumber building was approved by the City Council in August of 1979 for
use as an office /warehouse facility primarily intended for Arcade Electric with some rental
space. The approval was contingent upon a number of recommendations made in a report
by Midwest Planning and Research, dated 28 August 1979. These recommendations are
summarized below:
1. "Resubdivision of the two lots into one parcel should be required." According to
the City Clerk this has been complied with.
2. "Outdoor storage should be allowed only on a conditional use basis." The applicant
has provided a fenced -in storage area, but it differs from what had been shown on his
site plan. Outdoor storage currently on the site consists of the following:
2 semi- trailers
1 mobile home (mobile contractor's office)
1 cat -type loader
1 scrap pile (electrical conduit, light fixtures, etc.)
While some of this storage may be only temporary resulting from construction of the
building, it h suggested that Mr. McCumber apply for a conditional use permit for
outdoor storage when he appears for his occupancy permit.
11
.0-
