Little Canada Planning Commission
Mayor and City Council
7 February 1980
Page Two
2. Landscaping. Some concern has been expressed in the past with regard to
landscaping of this property. The original plans indicated placement of a
small number of trees and some have been provided. However, they are
considered very small and relatively few in number, nor do they provide an
adequate screen for residential property to the east. The Site Plan has
indicated landscaping on the east side of the property, but does not specify
size or type of plantings. These are considered necessary for proper evalua-
tion of their effectiveness as a screen or buffer.
RECOMMENDATION
Based upon Ordinance requirements, it is felt that the expansion could be approved
by the City. However, it is felt that the issue of landscaping is critical and has not
been adequately addressed. As such, we withhold any recommendation until a more
detailed landscape plan is submitted. Such landscape plan should include both sufficient
screening at ground level as well as some canopy -type plantings to break up the visual
mass of the building.
cc: Joe Chlebeck
Clayton Parks
Larry Squires
P & R Investment
