LITTLE CANADA PARK COMMISSION MINUTES <br />March 27, 1980 <br />The March 27, 1980 meeting of Little Canada Park Commission <br />was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Carl Spooner, Chairman. <br />Members present included Lois Runyon, Joe Donovan, Dan <br />Drake, Bill Sanders, Jim Morelan, Bev Scalze and Edith Schultz. <br />Cost of fencing across the park from parking lot to school <br />building was discussed. <br />Chain Link - approximately $2,100.00 <br />Board 2,800.00 <br />Post and Cable 2,800.00 <br />Post and Chain 4,200.00 <br />Hedging 1,400.00 <br />Problems dealing with walking or driving motorized equipment <br />through would be handled by a 3 to 4 foot opening. Jim Morelan <br />will discuss problems and solution recommendations with both <br />Little Canada Principal Glen Larson and with Vince Sether, Grounds <br />Superintendent for District 623. <br />Bill Sanders reported on the grant applications and the <br />funds received. Money is in the bank, advertising for the trail <br />improvement expected to be initiated at the April 9 council <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Gordon Swanson wilt again be advised of the dead trees <br />and the need to replace them together with the proposal to add <br />seven good -sized shade trees for the hillside above the bandstand. <br />Benches for the tennis court area are to be concrete footed, <br />3 x 6 redwood. Jim Morelan advised also the vandalism to the <br />tables and benches destroyt4gjethe park last year amounted to $600.00. <br />Claims have or will be submitted to our insurance carrier. <br />Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />four new benches for the tennis courts were authorized. <br />Black topping in the parking lots, park land needs, use of <br />the old Little Canada school, and the feasibility of additional <br />grant monies were discussed. <br />
