MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 2, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 2nd day of May, 2013, in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />Located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Patti Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />Mr. Kong Vang <br />ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Ree Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Mr. Kevin Ilelander, Cable TV Prod. <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the April 4, 2013 <br />meeting. <br />VETERAN'S Sanders reported that a committee has been formed to plan for a Veteran's <br />MEMORIAL Memorial in the City. The committee has been meeting for a few months <br />SITE and has looked at various sites. Their preferred site is along Round Lake <br />off Little Canada Road. Sanders reported that he has looked at the site and <br />it is well suited for this type of memorial. He also reported that he has met <br />with the committee and the project they are planning is modest, but <br />appropriate to commemorate the veterans that have served in all the <br />branches of the service. The memorial has not been designed at this point. <br />Sanders described the site in general noting the paver area along Little <br />Canada Road as well as the stone well building.
