CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
Office of:
JOSEPH G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484-2177
u:arch 19, 1987
To! Little Canada City Council
From: Torn Horwath
Re: Quotes for tree removals on public and private property 1987
MAR 20 1987
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
MAYOR
Michael Fehey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scelze
Bill Blosenor
Rick Collova
Mugs Nartlinl
This year I asked for quote, from four tree cutting companies to
be delivered for opening on March 16. I received only one back, from
Precision Landscaping. I have included their. quote. On every tree from
6" DBM to 34" DLH they raised their price $5 per tree from last year's
price. From 36" to 48" they dropped their price from $380.00 to $320.00.
Precision Landscaping has been the city tree contractor in Little
Canada since 1981. They have also been city tree contractor in Oakdale
since 1982. They also do much contract wok for the city of Minneapolis
where they are asked to remove some of the most difficult trees because
of their expertise. When I ask for quotes, it is difficult to receive any
from other companies because, as I have been told by some of their
competitors, their prices are very difficult to beat.
We have always received excellent service from there. We should feel
fortunate that they have always kept their prices low. It is a great ben-
efit for the residents in Little Canada who are asked to have their dis-
eased trees removed.
It is my recommendation that they again be rewarded the tree removal
contract for the city in 1987.
Thank you very much.
Tnh : th
Page 6
