Section 5. <br />Section 209.130(B) of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />Little Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 209.130. Leaves of Absence and Emergency Leave. <br />(B) In the event an employee is unable to report for work <br />because of extreme weather conditions (e.g. winter blizzard), <br />such employee may, upon the approval of the Department Head, be <br />granted leave without pay or use vacation or use compensatory <br />time for the day or days in question. Such employee may also be <br />allowed, upon approval of the Department Head, to make up the <br />time lost at straight time rate by working extra hours before or <br />after his /her regular shift, provided that all such time is made <br />up within the pay period in which the emergency leave day or <br />days occurred. <br />Section 6. <br />Section 209.180. Retirement. of the Municipal Code of the <br />City of Little Canada is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br />Section 7. <br />Section 209.210(B) of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />Little Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />209.210. Political Activity. <br />(B) Any employee who becomes a candidate for any public <br />office (other than a City office) may be required to take a <br />leave of absence without pay and shall perform no duties <br />connected with the position held by such employee while a <br />candidate, if such candidacy interferes with such employee's <br />normal duties of employment. If the needs of the municipal <br />service require the denial of a leave of absence and the <br />employee's candidacy interferes with such employee's normal <br />duties, such employee may be required to resign, or, failing to <br />do so, will be subject to dismissal by the City Council. <br />Section 8. <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br />after its passage and publication. <br />PAGE -32 <br />
