MINUTES
Planning Commission
August 13, 1987
Brutger Herkenhoff asked the status of the existing home on the property.
PUD (Cont.)
Kath replied that some repairs would be made to the existing home
and then it would be sold along with the proposed house.
Herkenhoff agreed that a shared driveway could present a problem
in this instance. Davison agreed pointing out that no parking is
allowed on Little Canada Road.
Timmons noted that two driveways is not in violation of the ordinance,
the shared driveway concept is a recommendation from the Planner.
The Planner agreed pointing out that when a new lot is approved,
normally access to the street is approved as well. The Planner
stated that he is just bringing up the point that the City may not want
another curb cut onto Little Canada Road.
DeLonais asked if the applicant was willing to move the existing
garage to meet setbacks.
Kath replied that he is not sure whether the garage will be moved or
the lot line adjusted so that setbacks are met.
The Planner agreed that either could be done.
DeLonais asked if the garage would be grandfathered in under the
ordinance.
The Planner replied that it is grandfathered in, however, since there
is an adjustment in lot lines being made, the grandfather rights are
lost.
Mrs. Timmons recommended approval of the Sherman Oaks /Brutger PUD
amendment request subject to the recommendations of the Planner as
contained in his August 11, 1987 report with the exception of the
requirement for a shared driveway, and subject to the garage setbacks
conforming to City Ordinance.
Motion seconded by Mr. Herkenhoff.
City Center
Expansion
Motion carried 6 - 0.
Councilman Collova appeared before the Commission and presented them
with a concept drawing for expansion of the City Center which was
done by Short, Elliott, and Hendrickson. Collova outlined the needs
for more space expressed by the various City departments as well as
the need for a better configuration of Council Chambers.
Page 3
