VILLAGE OF SHOREVIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
4665 NORTH VICTORIA STREET
Shoreview, Minnesota 55126 • Telephone 484 -3353
Joseph Chlebeck, Clerk - Treas.
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
St. Paul, MN 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
Rgt:MWQ
AUC 18 1987
August 17, 1987
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
The Shoreview City Council has requested that I send you the
enclosed resolution regarding the proposed location for a
headquarters library site in northern Ramsey County. The Library
Board has recommended that the headquarters library remain in
Roseville. The Shoreview City Council has taken a position that
the headquarters library should be more centrally located with
respect to both geography and population growth. Please note
that the Shoreview City Council is not requesting that the
library be located in Shoreview, but only that it be located in
or adjacent to an area generally bounded by Lexington, Highway
96, Rice St. and 1 -694.
We invite you and your City Council to review the matter and
determine whether or not you wish to take a position in favor of
a more centrally located headquarters library. If you agree with
this position, please notify our suburban county commissioners at
your earliest opportunity. The Ramsey County Board is expected
to review the Library Board's recommendations and make a final
decision in the near future.
Thank you for your consideration.
DDJ:cdg
Page 122
Sincerely,
C9461-49.9divienn
Dwight D.
