TO: Joseph G. Chlebeck
Clerk, City of Little Canada
FROM: Terry Mills
155 Demont Ave. E.
RE: Notice of Pending Public Improvement
Improvement 86 -7: Demont Avenue from Rice St. to I -35E
Since I have a conflict on Wednesday evening, August 26, I would like
a written response to some questions I have regarding the above
"improvement ".
First a comment: When I moved into 155 Demont in 1978, less than 10
years ago, Demont Avenue in front of my home was torn up, resurfaced,
and gutters put on the south side of the street. One of the reasons
that I bought the home was that there were no pending assessments and
I was assured that the street was up to current standards. Currently,
the street and curbs are in good shape.
Are all property owners all along Demont being assessed the same,
whether or not their part of the street was improved in 1978?
How can payment be requested when the improvement hasn't been
completed? It hasn't even been begun in front of my home. Do you
anticipate that all improvements will be made by September 25, when
you state that payments will be due?
Why is the interest rate so high?
Will the assessment be part of the property tax bill or a separate
invoice? My property tax is escrowed and I do not want any assessment
to be part of the escrow account.
My electric and telephone access to my home is underground. Will the
construction company be responsible if they cause service to be
interrupted? Also, will they resurface any part of the driveway that
is torn up?
Page 8
(
AUG 24 1987
CITY OF
1 LITTLE CANADA
