McRae, P.E.
District Engineer
MN /DOT Dist # 9
3485 Hadley Ave. N.
Oakdale, Minn.' 55109
Dear Mr. McRae:
500 West Highway 96
St. Paul, Minnesota 55112
484 -3301
• RE: Landscape Berm
CS 6285 I 694
Little Canada
Sept. 11, 1987
We submitted.a preliminary plan for the porposed landscape berm on
the north.side of I 694 near Twin Lake Trail in Little. Canada.
After a short review by your office we were called and asked to
supply further information.
Among the remarks listed on the Permit Routing Slip were the
modification of the berm cross section which presents no problem.
However, the request to include curb and gutter along the berm does
present additional cost which was not anticipated by City or ourselves.
The City Council would therefore like to know if the curb and gutter
is absolutely necessary. -- -
The second question of equal :importance is whether or -not and under
what conditions the fill material could be hauled on I 694 and unloaded
from the highway side of the berm rather than hauling on Twin Lake Trail.
We feel these questions should be answered before additional money is
spent on planning since the obviously affect the cost of the project.
Yours truly
MILNER W.
