Since the Center's inception in 1982. our primary financial <br />supporters have been Ramsey County. the City of St. Paul and <br />private foundations. Foundations cannot be viewed as a long -term <br />staple source of funding and grant- writing requires a large <br />expenditure of staff time. <br />The Center's Board of Directors discussed funding options at its <br />last meeting. The Board has decided to initiate a fee schedule to <br />help cover the cost of actual mediations beginning this Fall. <br />Under the plan. all parties. including cities. will pay a modest <br />fee for dispute resolution services. But in addition. the Board <br />felt that the time had come to broaden the base of basic <br />administrative support - for keeping the doors open so that <br />services are available when the need arises.
