Minutes
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
October 8, 1987
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the
Planning Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was
held on the 8th day of October, 1987 in the Council Chambers of
the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Acting Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at 7:30
P.M. and the following members were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gene DeLonais, Acting Chairman
Bill Davison
Art Herkenhoff
Tom Perlinger
Sharon Timmons
MEMBERS ABSENT:
ALSO PRESENT:
Peter Costa
Peggy Schweitzer
Steve Grittman, City Planner
Kathleen Glanzer, Recording Secretary
There being no corrections to the minutes of the September 10, 1987
meeting, the Acting Chairman declared that the minutes would stand
approved as read.
Attendance DeLonais reported that Pete Costa could not attend tonight's meeting
as he was ill. Also, Tom Perlinger indicated that he would not be
able to attend the November meeting as he will be out -of -town on
business.
Hauth
Front Yard
Setback
Variance
The Planner reported that Kenneth Hauth is requesting a front yard
setback variance for his property located on Sylvan. The Planner
explained that rather than putting Sylvan all the way through to
Demont because of the grade in the area, the City put in a cul -de -sac.
The properties along the cul -de -sac gave the City additional road
easement so that the cul -de -sac could be standard - sized. Now these
properties are requesting front yard setback variances so that they
could maintain a 30 foot setback from the originally platted street.
The new homes which would be constructed would line up with existing
homes on the street.
Timmons stated that she would like to see the homes line up, and
felt that since the property owners cooperated with the City and gave
up additional frontage for the cul -de -sac, the variances should be
granted. Timmons indicated that lining up the homes would be more
aesthetically pleasing.
Page 1
