MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 26, 2006 <br />CANADA Little Canada Road such as the two strip malls. It was the consensus of <br />ROAD the Council that the City Administrator discuss this issue with the owners <br />of the strip malls. <br />CAPITOL The City Administrator reported that Bob Burrow has indicated that St. <br />VIEW SITE Jude Medical maybe interested in a 150,000 square foot addition to their <br />Lillehei facility and may be interested in acquiring adjacent property <br />owned by School Districts 623 and 916. Kressa Partners is handling site <br />selection for St. Jude and maybe looking at other sites in addition to the <br />property adjacent to St. Jude. <br />The Administrator reported that he contact John Thein, School District <br />623, who indicated an interest in working with the City on this issue. <br />Thein indicated that the School District has had interest expressed in this <br />property, but would work with the City on a potential St. Jude expansion. <br />Thein also indicated that #623 has a financial interest in the #916 site, and <br />would be willing to provide assistance in the acquisition of a portion of <br />that site for St. Jude. <br />Blesener asked if TIF assistance was an option. The Administrator replied <br />that TIF or tax abatement maybe an option. He suggested that St. Jude <br />would ask for the assistance if it was needed to put the project together. <br />The Administrator indicated that Kressa Partners would likely contact the <br />City regarding the adjacent school district parcels. <br />2966 ARCADE The City Administrator reviewed the history of this parcel relative to <br />STREET Gordie Howe's interest in redeveloping the site. He also noted the code <br />enforcement issues on this site, and the fact that citations have been issued <br />to a number of the parties involved with the property. <br />KNOX The Administrator reported that a restaurant supply company may be <br />PROPERTY interested in acquiring the former Knox site. The company has asked <br />about the potential of TIF assistance. The Administrator reported that he <br />informed the company that TIF assistance would have to be justified and <br />not just a way to generate dollars to pay an overstated purchase price. <br />TWIN LAKE The Administrator reported that he would be putting together fhe RFP <br />BLVD. for the Twin Lake Blvd. property now that the appraisal has been <br />PROPERTY completed. <br />VALOR The Administrator reported that the Code Enforcement Officer has <br />
