MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 2(, 2006 <br />MORATORIUM The City Attorney reported Chat based on discussion at a recent Zoning <br />ON CERTAIN Code review workshop, he has prepared an ordinance which <br />BUILDING established a moratorium on the issuance of certain building permits in <br />PERMITS the Light-Industrial District. Building permit issuance would be restricted <br />IN THE I-1 to those that meet the building requirements of the Industrial-Park District <br />DISTRICT until such time as the Council can study the issue of allowed I-1 building <br />materials. The Attorney noted that the City can impose the moratorium <br />for a period of one year or less. <br />Blesener stated that it is likely that the City will complete this review in <br />less Chan a year's time, and can lift the moratorium upon that completion. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-7-172 - ADOPTING AN INTERIM <br />ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON THE <br />ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF <br />BUILDINGS WITHIN THE I-I LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT <br />FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR EXPIRING ON JULY 27, 2007 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />INFORMATION Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />UPDATE <br />WORKSHOP RESOLUTION NO.2006-7-773 -CALLING AN INFORMATION <br />UPDATE WORKSHOP FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9, 2006 AT <br />6:00 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />FIRE The City Administrator reviewed the State Law change which decreases <br />RELIEF the number of City Council members as representatives to the Fire Relief <br />ASSOCIATION Association from three to two. The current State Law indicates two <br />elected or appointed City officials can serve on The Relief Association. <br />Current City representation is Mayor Blesener and Council Members <br />Allan and LaValle. <br />Allan stated that while she would like to remain on the board, she would <br />defer to Council Member LaValle's seniority representation.
