Little Canada Planning Commission,
Mayor and City Council
1 July 1981
Page Two
Another alternative would be to vacate the Jackson Street right -of -way on the west side
of the property. This street has not been developed to date. This is not considered
advisable, however, since some potential exists for the lot owners along the railroad
right -of -way to divide their lots in the future. If this were to happen, access may become
a problem.
RECOMMENDATION
In view of the existing development in the surrounding neighborhood, two homes on the
property in question does not appear to be unreasonable. However, a variance is not con-
sidered justified. In order to avoid granting an unjustified variance and yet allow what is
considered a reasonable request, it is recommended that the City consider vacating two to
three feet of Bluwood Street and relocating the proposed property line so that both lots
contain at least 11,000 square feet.
cc: Joe Chlebeck
Clayton Parks
Don Carley
Jean Schubert
