MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 14, 2006 <br />own. The Adminishrator indicated that McDonald's is willing to pay for a <br />betCer siCe. He also noted that Che CounCy should be involved in the cost <br />given that the functionality of Rice Street will be the principle benefiC of <br />the realignment of Rice Street. <br />LaValle suggested thaC if the City has to bond for acquisition cosCS, that it <br />negotiate a repayment by McDonalds over a 5 or 10 year period similar to <br />what was done for the owners of the Market Place Shopping Center. The <br />City Administrator suggested thaC this idea may have merit, but noted that <br />the two siCUations are different, the McDonald's issue being a land <br />exchange to provide McDonald's with a more functional piece of property <br />and Che City with right-of-way to facilitate the Viking Drive realignment. <br />Keis asked abouC due diligence on the Oasis property given its use as a gas <br />station. The City Administrator reported that Oasis will provide the City <br />with environmental information and will auChorize a Phase II with soil <br />borings. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2006-6-139 -AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR, CITY ATTORNEY, AND CITY ENGINEER TO <br />CONTINUE PURSUING THE POTENTIAL FOR REALIGNMENT <br />OF VIKING DRIVE AS WELL AS AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO NEGOTIATE A CONTINGENT PURCHASE <br />AGREEMENT FOR ACQUISITION OF THE TWO VIKING DRIVE <br />RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES AS WELL AS THE OASIS SITE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SALARY The City Administrator presented his report dated June 9, 2006 relative <br />SCALE to salary scale adjustments for three positions. <br />ADJUSTMENTS <br />Mr. Blesener introduced Che following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-6-I40 -APPROVING SALARY SCALE <br />ADJUSTMENTS FOR THREE POSITIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR IN HIS REPORT DATED JUNE 9, <br />2006 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5). <br />11 <br />
