within a storage tank or container, unless the tank or container has <br />been approved as a pressure vessel for the use to which it is subjected. <br />In no case shall air or oxygen pressure be used for this purpose. <br />(b) Flammable liquids shall not be dispensed into the fuel tank of <br />a motor vehicle directly from any aboveground tank. This Subsection <br />shall not prohibit the use of approved portable or temporary fueling <br />or dispensing units operating under the provisions of a special permit <br />issued by the Chief. <br />Waste Petroleum Products and Flammable or Combustible Liquids <br />Sec. 15.110. No person shall permit or cause to be permitted the <br />discharge of flammable or combustible liquids or any waste liquid <br />containing crude petroleum or its products into or upon any street, <br />highway, drainage canal or ditch, storm drain or flood control channel, <br />lake or tidal waterway, or upon the ground. <br />Cleaning With Flammable Liquid <br />Sec.15.111. No flammable liquid with a flash point below 100 °F., <br />shall be used within a building for washing parts or removing grease <br />or dirt unless it is used in a closed machine approved for the purpose <br />or in a separate well ventilated room constructed in accordance with <br />Section 15.404, Inside Storage and Handling Rooms. <br />Sources of Ignition <br />Sec. 15.112. In locations where flammable vapors may be present <br />precautions shall be taken to prevent ignition by eliminating or con- <br />trolling sources of ignition. <br />Division II <br />TANK STORAGE, BULK STORAGE <br />• Part l <br />Aboveground: Outside of Building <br />Restricted Locations and Fire Protection <br />Sec. 15.201. (a) The storage of Class I flammable liquids in above- <br />ground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited within the limits estab- <br />lished by law as the limits of the districts in which such storage is to be <br />prohibited. <br />(b) Fire protection shall be provided in accordance with nationally <br />recognized standards. When required by the Chief, foam fire protection <br />shall be provided for any aboveground tank except floating roof type, <br />or pressure tanks operating at or above one pound per square inch <br />gauge pressure, and used for the storage or handling of Class I flam- <br />mable liquids when such tank or group of tanks spaced less than 50 <br />feet apart, shell to shell, has a liquid surface area in excess of 1500 <br />square feet. <br />1'3 <br />102 <br />
