Little Canada Planning Commission,
Mayor and City Council Page Two
RECOMMENDATION
Based upon our review of the applicant's request, the C.U.P. is considered
appropriate. A general recommendation relative to any request of this nature
is that the City may wish to impose certain landscaping requirements for over-
sized accessory buildings. The intent of such a condition is to break up or
screen the physical massing of the structure to some extent. Given the size
of this property, the setback from Keller Parkway (264 feet) and the orienta-
tion of the garage, we do not feel strongly that such a condition is necessary
in this instance.
Finally, we encourage the City to advise any applicant for an oversized accessory
structure, particularly detached structures, of the provisions relative to home
occupations. To a large extent, this is the intent of requiring a C.U.P. for
oversized accessory buildings.
cc: Joe Chlebeck
Don Carley
Tom Sweeney
Ed Locke
Dr. Rabcevich
